Biography

Elliott Pauli, the solo artist of Prepulse, shifted his personal interests to creating diverse, entertaining music. Creating diverse music became an interest of Elliott’s while growing up in Louisiana (~40 miles north of New Orleans). Throughout college and while moving from state to state for the past decade finding his way, he refined his musical skills and created several memorable guitar riffs. Finally, after moving to Cary, North Carolina, where he currently resides, he coalesced some of the guitar riffs and noted which could be developed in to songs. After several favorable experiences, he produced “Breathing the Clouds “while in a heightened sense of blustering love and lust.” After recognizing additional skills learned after developing the first album, Elliott immediately began producing and writing his latest album, “The Darkness and the Light”. Even with his busy schedule, Elliott dedicates himself to many existentially-knitted projects. However, he is open to interviews and responds to all correspondents, including music distributors, producers, fans, etc. Thus, if you are interested in discussing licensing agreements or scheduling an interview, please email Elliott at info@theprepulse.com or send your correspondence to 110 Electra Dr. Cary, NC 27513. Fans are suggested to contact Elliott through Myspace and Facebook.”

Albums Overview
“The Darkness and the Light” is a futuristic concept album set in 3030 consisting of 11 tracks. Each track tells a new piece of a story, starting with an individual’s abrupt, emotionless departure from a “starry grave” (i.e. earth). After escaping earth, he is thrilled and in awe of the “multiverse,” which he experiences through the “night lights” and hallucinogens. Unfortunately, he is abducted from an exoplanet and plunged into situations requiring him to focus on positive memories, such as the woman he left beyond on the “Starry Grave.” As he taps “S.O.S” and reminisces through “lucid dreams,” his emotions get the best of him, and he begins trying to speak with his past lover via “interstellar telepathy,” which does not exist even in 3030. His thoughts cannot be compartmentalized; thus, he boards “Flight 010X,” bound for earth to relay his rediscovered feelings in “Cosmic Cycle.” Most tracks have dual meanings and thus are adaptable to today’s realities. In all, from Elliott's point of view, this is meant to be a fun album with a peculiar twist about decisions and love.

The general theme throughout “Breathing the Clouds” is linked to love, and given the flux and many faces of love, genres of music chosen to capture the gist included punk, Goth punk, electronica, rock, punk pop, and alternative. Individual track themes define an emotional variety that can stem from love’s effects, such as obsessive lust, gleeful and harmful infatuations, self-reflection, contemplative love, compassion, expressive desire, pre-contemplative love, unyielding yearning, submissive confessions, overwhelming confusion, and sexual angst.” Therefore, with the various tempos and sounds throughout “Breathing the Clouds”, some sounds are mood-dependent but were mindfully crafted to fit love-struck moods experienced throughout the day.

Future Plans
In the future, Elliott plans to build upon recently developed production skills that will expand into new genres, for example, industrial, high energy electronica, etc.
